We're Back - Day 9

We had no Internet last night due to the winds in Amarillo.

First of all we would like to say how grateful we are that many of you are praying for our Good Shepherd dear friends, Nancy & Brian Brown and their family. Our hearts are full of thoughts and prayers for all of them. Please also pray for God's gift of faith for the family of Stacy, sister of Ted & Joan's son-in-law, Doug. Stacy has been air-lifted from her home in Wagner, S.D. to Sioux Falls for emergency brain surgery for meningitis. As of today, she has come through the surgery and the CAT scan looks good, but she is not out of the woods yet. We are having a blast, but have heavy hearts for our hurting friends and family.

We were sorry we couldn't post last night but the Internet was down due to high winds in Amarillo!

Kathy was navigating Day 9 and well...the road we ended up on wasn't even on our map! But we were in beautiful country with plateaus, antelope, deer, cows & windmills. They talk about their land here in the terms of sections: 640 acres! After about 20 miles on Hwy. 156, we stopped at a small ranch house. As we have said, God has gone before us all the way. There was a sweet lady home, Roselynne, who said we were on the right road to Tucumcari and we had only about 60 miles to go! I think the guys were very relieved and so was Kathy. Thank you Lord!

NOW for the highlight of our trip: Midpoint Cafe in Adrian, Texas. The owner is Fran and she and her cafe were the models for Flo's Diner in the movie Cars. Wow...the cafe was authentic and original, food excellent and the people who worked there were incredible. Did I mention this was the highlight of our trip?

We did stop at a parts house...more details later and spent the night in Amarillo, TX.
